Take a Tour

There are more than 15 wineries throughout nearby Southold Town, most of them offer daily tours and tastings, and scores of farm stands offering farm fresh vegetables, flowers, jams, and pies. 

Drive west on Route 48 or Route 25 (Main Road) and you will be happy to find many wineries and farm stands along the way. Don't have a car? There are local companies that offer winery transportation. Please be aware that many of our local wineries charge a nominal tasting fee of between $5 and $8. Drive east on Route 48, toward Orient, and you'll find a number of additional farm stands.

Duck Walk Vineyards, well known on the South Fork for excellent wines and their beautiful building in Watermill has opened Duck Walk Vineyards North, just 5 miles west of Greenport in Southold. Both locations offer tastings of their well-known wines and complimentary tours at their Watermill location.

One woman Wines is just that, the winery of Claudia Purita, who grew up on her family’s farm in Calabria Italy, and has taken her love of the land and knowledge of wine grapes to the North Fork of Long Island. The tasting room, a charming cottage, is located at 5195 Old North Road in Southold. All groups larger than six people require a reservation, limos two weeks in advance.

Pindar has tasting rooms in Peconic and in Port Jefferson. They have been in the business of making Long island wines since the early 1980's. The largest vineyard on Long Island, Pindar produces 23 varietals and proprietary blends of wine.
