parks

There are a few different parks in Greenport to reconnect with nature.

wineries

There are more than 15 wineries throughout nearby Southold Town, most of them offer daily tours and tastings, and scores of farm stands offering farm fresh vegetables, flowers, jams, and pies.

Drive west on Route 48 or Route 25 (Main Road) and you will be happy to find many wineries and farm stands along the way. Don't have a car? There are local companies that offer winery transportation. Please be aware that many of our local wineries charge a nominal tasting fee of between $5 and $8. Drive east on Route 48, toward Orient, and you'll find a number of additional farm stands.

sports

For all sports, call for off-season availability.

mitchell park

It's hard to imagine the Village of Greenport without Mitchell Park. It wasn't long ago, however, that the site of this magnificent harbor front park was nothing more than five acres of derelict land surrounded by a cyclone fence...

Although aspects of the park have been in operation for some time, 2007 will be the first full-year of the completed park in operation. It took twelve years and three phases to bring it to fruition, but the “Crown Jewel” of the North Fork is complete and it has done what everyone expected it to do – revitalize beautiful downtown Greenport for generations to come!

fishing

The waters around Greenport have some of the best fishing on Long Island. Party and charter boats leave to catch the flounder, fluke, striped bass, blues, blackfish porgies, and squid that run off our shores starting in April. If you prefer to buy your fish or seafood and leave the work to the fishermen, visit the Southold Fish Market, one of Long island's finest fish markets now located at 64755 Route 25 in Southold.
