In the former Long Island Railroad station at the foot of Third Street, the Maritime exhibits displayed include those on the bunker fishing industry, the oyster industry, and a mock-up of the first submarine. Two beautiful Fresnel lenses are on display. Made in France in the late 1800’s, these lenses concentrated the light from the interior bulb. Most working lighthouses, now automated, no longer need lenses to magnify the light. Open weekends, May 19 through June, and in Septemver, 11am-5pm; July & August, weekdays (except Tuesdays) 11am - 5pm. Adults, kids over 10-$2.00, under 10, free. Gift shop on premises. Call for off-season hours. 477-2100. EastEndSeaport.org
